Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: February 2025
This Cancellation Policy describes how to cancel your Chorus Research account and what happens when you do.
1. How to Cancel
You may cancel your Chorus Research account at any time using one of the following methods:
Option 1: In-App Cancellation
Log in to your account and navigate to Account Settings. Select "Delete Account" and follow the confirmation prompts.
Option 2: Contact Support
Send an email to support@chorusresearch.io from the email address associated with your account, requesting account cancellation.
We will process your cancellation request within 2 business days and send you a confirmation email.
2. Effect on Active Surveys
When you cancel your account, any active surveys will be stopped immediately.
- Active surveys will stop collecting new responses
- Responses already collected will remain available for export during the data export window
- Stopping active surveys does not result in automatic refunds
- Refund requests for incomplete surveys are evaluated on a case-by-case basis

3. Data Export
Before canceling your account, you have the right to export your data. You can export:
- Survey designs and configurations
- Response data in CSV or JSON format
- Analytics reports
- Account information
To export your data, use the Export function in your account settings or contact support@chorusresearch.io.
4. Data Export Window
After you request cancellation, you have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted. During this period:
- Your account will be marked for deletion but remain accessible
- You can still log in and export data
- You cannot create new surveys or field existing surveys
- You can cancel the deletion request if you change your mind
5. Data Deletion
After the 30-day export window, we will permanently delete:
- Your account information
- All survey designs and configurations
- All response data
- All analytics and reports
This deletion is irreversible. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before the export window closes.
6. Data Retained After Cancellation
We may retain certain information after account cancellation as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Transaction records for tax and accounting purposes
- Communications related to support requests or disputes
- Anonymized or aggregated usage data
- Information necessary to comply with legal obligations
This retained information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Reactivation
If you wish to use Chorus Research again after cancellation:
- Within 30 days: Contact support to cancel the deletion request and restore your account
- After 30 days: You will need to create a new account. Previous data cannot be recovered.
8. Cancellation by Us
We may cancel or suspend your account if:
- You violate our Terms of Service
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period
- Required by law or legal process
In such cases, we will attempt to provide notice when possible and allow for data export unless prohibited by law.
